True North Supports (TNS) was an idea that came from a visit to the Oregon Coast. In fact, the above picture was taken during that trip. The beauty of that experience was a vibrant reminder of life, existence, and the short time we have to embrace it all. Recognizing where we may feel “off” with the direction of our life is one step we can take to finding our own “True North” and redirecting ourselves accordingly. Nature allows this life-scan and encourages us to work hard, follow our hearts (our true north) and to achieve all we can.
TNS desires to provide this same exact opportunity to the individual’s of whom we provide daily services, to our entire workforce, and to our surrounding communities. We believe this principle encourages acceptance, growth, progress and helps change lives along the way. We believe nature enhances life, and we seek to spend as much time embracing life as it comes and helping each other improve and realign ourselves along the way.
TNS provides varying supports to individuals with varying support needs in order to help increase the individual’s overall quality of life and to help them accomplish goals, both short-term and life-long, that help the individual find fulfillment and success on their life’s journey. Although private-pay options are available, TNS works mainly through state contracted medicaid waiver programs and with individuals with varying disabilities who have applied for and have been approved to receive state funded supports.
*TNS does work with private-pay individuals. Please contact us directly for private pay options or click here to visit our private-pay information page.

This is a question that we often get from medical professionals and others within the medical and mental health industries.

TNS provides different levels of support that vary drastically and are fully dependent upon the individual’s functioning levels, medical needs, professional and private support goals: i.e., -Medically supported ABI/TBI patients with transitional plans. -ADL/IDL daily in-home support needs. -Therapeutic practices for mental health plans. -Independent living skills, including development and practical applications of: overall physical and mental health, financial management, personal hygiene and organization, job supports, social development (social anxiety, socially reclusive, social development), menu planning, weight management, med-management, job support (job search, job acquisition, and job retention/performance improvement), and within any other areas of life where support is needed to help improve overall quality of life.
“I have a friend who has disabilities, I’m trying to help them and their family find external support.“
If you are searching for service options for a friend or loved one, or if you are simply trying to find out what options are out there, please use our “other ways we can help” tab under the “Portals” tab on our main menu for more information.
“Do you guys provide supports to individuals with any diagnosis and any form of disability?“
In short, yes. TNS is qualified to provide services for all diagnosis and support to all individuals with any form of disability.
TNS has an intricate and dynamic approach to services. These dynamics often include coordination between medical and mental health professionals pertaining to the individual’s overall health plan and needs.
“How can I get involved with helping individuals with disabilities?“
We seek to partner with community members to enrich the lives of each of the individuals we are blessed to work with. With each action taken by community members (becoming a valued staff member, opening homes and the community for housing, donating time as a support volunteer, and simply offering a kind gesture at the grocery store) we enable our individual’s the ability to lead a more independent and enriched life.
Owner’s Message
“In life, and often to our disappointment, we end up choosing to go down particular roads that we regret. Sometimes we recognize the mistake right away and make the immediate course correction. Other times it takes us quite a while for us to see the mistakes we’ve made, or a wrong that we need to make right. Although we may be frustrated with our mistakes, and even embarrassed, we shouldn’t be too hard on ourselves (or others). We can, and should learn a lot from the decisions we make throughout our lives, good or bad. This is what True North represents; finding the opportunities to adjust and re-align ourselves through our failures and disappointments. We owe this to ourselves, we owe this to others around us, and we owe this to each individual and family that we support. That is: patience and persistence, commitment and understanding, non-judgmental and compassionate care that helps all of us believe in who we are and what we can become.
As long as we can understand that it’s okay to make mistakes, that we can make changes as needed, and therein eventually become a better version of ourselves, life seems to become more manageable, we are stronger and happier, thus increasing our overall quality of life. This is a founding principle that built True North Supports, and is a cornerstone to our vision and the key to our success as a staffing core in the support of the individuals and the families we are blessed to serve.” -Jake
